About Sophie
Sophie Civetta is an LA-based actress, comedian, writer, dancer, and choreographer. She is passionate about creating art that is both joyful and a catalyst for positive social change.
Sophie graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in theatre and dance, and she has completed The Second City Conservatory. Post-graduation she moved to Chicago where she was a working actor for four years. Sophie was in numerous features, plays, short films, web series, commercials, and comedy shows including feature The Becomers, directed by Zack Clark that premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.
Aside from acting, Sophie was a preprofessional competitive hip-hop dancer for many years, and she has choreographed numerous musicals, even winning a People’s Choice Award at Northwestern’s Creative Arts Festival for her choreography of “His Name Is Lancelot” in Spamalot. Sophie is also a writer and has written multiple monologues for herself and fellow actors. Currently, she is working on a one-act comedy play about a woman’s bathroom in a bar titled “You Don’t Have to Go Home But You Can’t Stay Here.” Sophie has explored multiple facets of the entertainment industry through an internship at Paskal Rudnicke Casting and a job as a production assistant on Disney’s Timmy Failure, directed by Oscar-winning director Tom McCarthy.
Through all of these experiences, she has found a deep love for multiple aspects of the creative arts, and hopes that her career will continue to allow her to explore new aspects of performance. Except for karaoke. She will not be exploring karaoke.
